Sunday Recap | Why would I do that?

In life, we often find ourselves in different seasons and circumstances, but how we navigate them can make all the difference. In a recent sermon, we explored three ways to live: sinking, surviving, and thriving. These three paths are not just about our physical circumstances but also about our spiritual journey and relationship with God. Let's delve into these three ways and understand how we can choose to thrive in God's divine plan.

Sinking - The Downward Spiral

The sinking path represents a life in constant decline, where we feel trapped in a downward spiral of negativity and despair. It's a state where we allow our circumstances to dictate our emotions and actions. But remember, God is a master planner, and nothing surprises Him. Jeremiah 29:11 reminds us that God knows the thoughts and plans He has for us. The future, with all its successes and struggles, is within His divine plan.

Sovereignty doesn't require permission from us to manifest His plans. God always knows what's best for us, and the safest place for us to be is in His will. Even in challenging times, remember that what you're facing is part of the life God has painted for you, not what you presupposed.

Surviving - Just Existing

Surviving is about merely getting by, existing day to day without fully embracing God's purpose for our lives. We must acknowledge that God's purpose will always prevail. Sometimes, when we hold onto what's comfortable and avoid sacrifice, we hinder our own success.

Consider the story of the widow who received grace instead of death. She had to give up her last bit of flour and oil as a sacrifice. Sometimes, what seems like a sacrifice to us is actually the conduit for our blessings. God sees your anointing and potential even when you don't.

Thriving - Doing the Best in Your Season

Thriving is about doing the best you can in your current season with the resources you have and making the most of what's in your hands. It might not always make sense to everyone, but true faith often defies logic. If it makes sense to everyone, it's not necessarily an act of faith.

The story of the widow teaches us that God is watching, waiting to see how we manage our limitations. He may have a plan for us that we're not aware of. Your abundance may be tied to your willingness to step out in faith and release your fears.

Release Your Fears, Embrace God's Plan

Fear can paralyze us and prevent us from stepping into God's abundant plan for our lives. In this season, let go of fear and release every mindset that has kept you in the stronghold of lack. God wants to provide for you, but He also wants you to trust Him.

Remember, God uses what's already in your hand to showcase His divine power. Your hand is about to hold evidence that God is with you. Trust the voice of your pastor or spiritual leader; they often see the strategy that God has in mind during tough seasons.

In life, we have the choice to sink, survive, or thrive in God's plan. Let's choose to thrive by trusting in His divine certainty, embracing sacrifice, and releasing our fears. God's plan for us is greater than we can imagine, and by choosing to follow His path, we can experience His power and provision in our lives. So, as you go forward, remember: it's going to take choosing God in your sacrifice to truly thrive.
